SpeedyToys.com Frequently Asked Questions

Do you ship internationally?

Due to the unpredictable cost of VAT (value added tax) which varies from country to country, it has become a liability to ship internationally.  Currently, at this time, we are only accepting Canadian orders and these orders must be for CLEAR airsoft guns and/or airsoft accessories only.  Any international order other than Canada for Clear airsoft guns and/or accessories will be cancelled and refunded in full.

Do you deliver to P.O. Boxes?

Since we ship exclusively with U.P.S., they do not ship to P.O. Boxes.  We require a physical address.

I live in Canada or have a military address outside of the U.S., if I place an order over $150 will I receive free shipping?

Unfortunately, our free shipping incentive is currently extended to those living in the contiguous 48 United States.

If I order two airsoft guns, do I get 2000 Free BB's?

No, the free 1000 BB's offer is extended to the purchase of one airsoft gun per new order. Orders that contain more than one airsoft gun will only receive 1,000 free BB’s.  This offer applies to airsoft guns only, not paintball markers.

Why is my order on hold?

If you chose “Pay by Mail” as your payment method, the order will stay on hold indefinitely until we receive your payment by mail. Once payment is confirmed, the status will change to “New,” and we will ship the item as soon as possible.

If you paid with PayPal, me must manually verify your payment, and this will usually happen within 1 business day.

If your order is on hold and you paid with a credit card, please e-mail us at orderstatus@speedytoys.com for more information.

What is your policy on shipping Green Gas or any other compressed propellant?

Green gas (propane) is no longer available to ship at this time due to the Department of Transportation sanctions.  Silicon spray is still okay to ship.

How long will it take for my order to get to me?

All packages are shipped via U.P.S. and FED EX. If a tracking number is not working with ups.com. It's a good chance that it is a FED EX  tracking number.

The shipping method you choose is NOT an indication of when your package will ship, but an estimation of how long it will take to reach you once you receive a tracking number.  We try to ship your order within 5 days but this is not guaranteed.   If you place an order after 2 p.m. (pacific time) your order will not be processed until the following business day.  If it is on Friday, after 2 p.m., then the order would be processed on the following Monday, excluding any major holidays that were to fall on that day.

Any order originating from or shipping to Alaska and Hawaii must choose express shipping due to extended area charges (normal ground rates only apply to the contiguous 48 States).  Orders to Alaska or Hawaii will not ship until the express shipping charges have been paid.

If you request premium service such as Next Day Air or 2nd Day Air, your package will ship to you as requested if item is in stock.  If you have multiple items in your order and we only have some of your items in stock we will ship what we can and the remaining items will be shipped U.P.S. ground or by any other carrier of our choosing.

If you are willing to wait for all items to be in stock, please be advised that we can only give you an ETA (estimated time of arrival) of when the items will reach our warehouse from our manufacturer – no arrival times are guaranteed.  However, your order may ship in multiple packages if only one or two items are unable to ship out of multiple items in a larger order.  If this happens you will not be charged for additional shipping.

If you are unable to receive your package, and it is sent back to us you will be responsible for additional shipping charges to have the package sent out again.

Delivery times and rates are not guaranteed and in some instances additional shipping may be required.  Rates and times are subject to change due to mitigating factors beyond our control. Factors include, but are not limited to: carrier rate increases, shipping locations that are deemed remote (by carrier), size, weight, and dimensions of package, or any unforeseen factor we are not liable for.  Delays can happen, but we always strive to get you your package as Speedy as possible.

Which guns are okay to ship to Canada?

Canadian orders for airsoft guns MUST be clear and/or airsoft accessories/camo gear only, NO EXCEPTIONS.  If you place an order for a non-clear airsoft gun, your order will be cancelled and refunded.

BILLING AND SHIPPING ADDRESSES MUST MATCH FOR CANADIAN ORDERS, NO EXCEPTIONS.  FULL NAMES ARE ALSO REQUIRED FOR CUSTOMS FORMS.

IMPORTANT! - Due to the higher cost of Canadian shipping, we CANNOT repair or service any items shipped outside of the U.S. Due to this policy, ALL Canadian orders are made at the buyer's risk. If your item breaks, we cannot fix or replace it unless you are willing pay shipping both ways, and this is usually more expensive than the value of the gun.

If you place an order with us, we will ship it, but we cannot be held responsible for ANY customs seizures. You are the importer, so you are responsible for which items you attempt to import into Canada.

Are taxes charged for Canadian orders?

IMPORT TAX: You may have to pay an IMPORT TAX/VAT (value added tax) upon receiving the package. This tax is charged by YOUR COUNTRY - NOT US. You are importing goods into your country, so it is YOUR responsibility to pay all applicable taxes.  When you purchase items from Speedytoys, you are being charged for the cost of the item and the amount of money to ship it. We do not charge for taxes because every country charges a different VAT percentage based on value. Again - we cannot be held responsible for knowing the laws of your country. If an import tax is required, UPS will collect it before delivering your package. From Wikipedia.org: "...Some Canadian provinces collect 14% for harmonized sales tax, a combined federal/provincial VAT. In the rest, the federal GST is 6% and if the province charges sales tax it is separate and is not a VAT. No real "reduced rate" but rebates are generally available for new housing effectively reducing the tax to 4.5%"

How much is it to ship to Canada?

Our U.P.S. rates for Canada are calculated through U.P.S. most economical rate available to Canada which is "Standard".  The minimum charge for Standard is $17.99 (USD) for most orders this is sufficient.  If your order is large in weight and size the amount of shipping increases incrementally.  Additional money may be required if your package is considered "oversized" and the only way we can determine the shipping rate is to have your order packed, on the scale and your information entered into the U.P.S. shipping program.  If your shipment requires additional shipping money, you will be contacted via e-mail.  Remember, you can always see how much shipping would cost before you "submit" an order in our order checkout area.

 How much is domestic shipping?

Shipping is calculated based on the total weight of your order and which shipping method you choose along with the size or girth of your package. UPS Ground is only available for customers located within the 48 contiguous U.S. states.

To see the total shipping cost of your order, just proceed through checkout, but stop at the shipping options page if you don’t want to place the order. All shipping costs are displayed BEFORE payment is required, so you can always check the shipping on any order before you finalize it.

Do you ship to military addresses (APO and FPO)?
No.  At this time we are only shipping to domestic addresses in the United States.

How do I register?

The login is only for returning customers to check status or track an order. You will register automatically once you place your first order. To begin shopping, just go to any item page and click the “Buy Now” button.

I think I accidentally got double charged.

99.9% of the time IF this happens, it’s due to the fact that you attempted a transaction with your credit card that we declined. When you make an attempted charge that is declined, many times your bank will still hold the funds for a couple of days until the attempt clears and they realize that the merchant (us) did not accept the charge. At that point they should return all the money.

Because we declined the charge, there’s nothing we can do about it from our end. You just have to wait a day or so, and the declined charge should be corrected. Feel free to e-mail us, and we can let you know for sure what happened.

Your site doesn’t recognize my e-mail address.

E-mail us at orderstatus@speedytoys.com with your full name (and order number if you have it), and we can figure out why you aren’t able to login.

I bought a gun with no warranty and it broke in less than a week. Can I get a replacement?

Sorry, but the only way we are able to offer some of our items at such reasonable prices is to do so without a warranty. Many of the items we carry are covered by a one month manufacturer’s warranty, but our most affordable, Chinese-manufactured guns do not have a warranty, so we cannot replace them.  They're cheap for a reason.

Please understand that most of the time guns are broken due to misuse.  If a gun is damaged to do misuse by the user we cannot replace or refund the item and the manufacturer will not honor the warranty because it only covers defects in mechanical operation  due to normal use and manufacturer defects.  If a gun arrives dead contact us at sales@speedytoys.com and tell us what's wrong, in most cases you will be instructed to contact the manufacturer about fixing your gun.

If you’re unsure about warranty on any item, e-mail us before you make a purchase.

The magazine on my gas gun is leaking gas!

It may be a defective magazine, but many people think that their magazine is leaking because they aren’t loading it correctly. Please see our instructions on proper gas blowback loading here:

This is from our numerous experience with Gas-Guns (pistols only). This information is not all inclusive, and is subject to more testing, and opinions. This is up for more discussion and experience you all have had also. But, the findings are based on real-testing, and experimenting. I hope this helps everyone (newbie and veteran alike) on their gas-gun knowledge.

How to use a gas gun:

1.) Fill the magazine, when it is upside down 180 degrees. Make sure the can is ALSO upside down . Make sure they are both perfectly lined up vertically, not tilting sideways at all. Make sure the nozzles get a firm seal, and proceed to fill the "Liquid" into the mag. Filling time depends on the mag capacity. A normal handgun mag is generally about 3 seconds. A 50-round mag is usually about 5-6 seconds. This will insure you get a full charge of gas, for the amount of BBs. Be sure not to overflow your mag with gas. Do not fill for more than the specified time. Filling the mags is a precision job, and requires skill. Do not mess this up, or you magazine will be toasted.

2.) What not to do when filling the mag: If you fill the mag, and gas-spills everywhere, STOP. Let the magazine warm up before attempting again. This is usually about 2-3 minutes. If you get a tight seal, and fill
correctly, leave the mag alone. Do not use the gun till the mag warms up to room temp. usually about 2-3 minutes to warm up. Also, be sure not to overfill the mag. If you load it up for 15 seconds, you will probably blow the seals, or damage them. Do not fill for more than 6 seconds max, ever. Tapping the big metal button on the side of the mag will discharge the GAS reserve. Do not do this! It will prematurely wear the seals out. Instead, fire the gun until it is out of gas, or almost out. This is the safe way to discharge a gas-gun.

3.) Fire the gun in WARM weather. Using during the cold seasons are not advised. They will not cycle as well, fire good, and will use more gas than normal. Rapid-firing of the gas-gun will also cause the gun to freeze up, resulting in improper firing. This is usually not a problem in the Summer months though.

4.) Use HIGH grade BBs for your guns. In the KSC Glocks, cheap BBs have a tendency to Jam in the magazine well, preventing proper firing. Marui and Excel BBs are slick enough to work properly in the guns. Taiwanese .20 BBs are highly unrecommended. Using .12 is not advised. .25 are good for the Glock 18 series, and other Japanese guns too.

5.) Gas-gun care: Be sure to keep your slide and all moving parts slightly lubed with SILICONE oil. Do not use anything else. 100% pure silicone oil is recommended, as it is safe for use on plastic and rubber parts. You can get this at any hardware store, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. Hoppes #9, wd-40, and other products will hurt the guns. Lubing the slide will keep the gun working fresh. Not cleaning the slide, and lubing it will cause jams and improper function (like real guns). You will have to field strip the gun to access the slide and parts. ALSO, be sure to spray silicone oil into the top nozzle of the Magazine well, every 5-6 magazines worth shot. This is done, by pressing the big-metal button on the side of the mag all the way down. While down, use a quick spray of Silicone into the rubber top-part (into the mag). This will keep the seals properly lubed for a lifetime of use. This was translated from the KSC manuals (japanese). Just, never overkill the lubing. This is gunk up parts too. Just use enough to keep a thin surface lubed.

After reading this, if you still believe the magazine is defective, let us know.

When I return something am I responsible for shipping costs?

Yes, if you receive items that are defective you will be responsible for return shipping costs to us.  If you want to exchange new merchandise for something else, you will be responsible for shipping costs both ways.  If you are returning new merchandise for a full refund, shipping charges will not be refunded.  Shipping charges will only be refunded if your order has not shipped and you decide to cancel. If you are missing items from your order, you will not be charged shipping on missing items (this excludes international orders).

What is your return policy?

ONCE YOU RECEIVE YOUR PACKAGE

These simple guidelines apply to all items and should be observed in order to ensure not only the manufacturer’s warranty but also any refunds on returned merchandise.

  1. Read all instructions completely and carefully.
  2. Do not take apart the item if you feel it is defective and try to repair it yourself; doing so will void the warranty and greatly reduce any or all refund of purchase.
  3. Retain all packaging, parts, and instructions these are required to honor a manufacturer’s warranty.
  4. When a package is delivered and you suspect it is damaged due to the condition of the package (box is crushed or looks as if it has been grossly mishandled) refuse the shipment at point of delivery.  If the seemingly damaged package was delivered while you were out, DO NOT open the package. Contact Speedytoys.com by phone or by e-mail at orderstatus@speedytoys.com and we will provide you with information on returning the package back to us.

If you send back an item to the manufacturer that is visibly damaged by misuse you could be subject to litigation under pretense of mail fraud.

We want you to be satisfied with the products we offer and we understand that this process can be frustrating. Defects can happen, and we want to work with you to resolve any issues in a timely and fair fashion so that you can spend more time enjoying your purchase.

My son wants to buy an airsoft gun, but I don't know anything about them. What risks are involved with these items?

The game is played similarly to paintball. Players would get together in a safe location with proper face protection and play 'war games' that involve shooting each other with the guns.

Airsoft guns are safer than BB guns because the BBs are slightly larger and shoot less hard (hence the name air-soft). With proper protection, there is not much worry about the danger of BBs.

The primary concern I would have as a parent is the fact that airsoft guns look nearly identical to REAL guns. I think the worst danger of these products would come from taking them in public (unless a designated airsoft/paintball area)  at all, because police officers may not stop to make sure the guns are real and that you may be subject to felony charges of brandishing a firearm in public.

All the guns do come with a permanent orange tip in accordance with U.S. Federal law, but other than that, they all look like real guns, so should be treated with care and responsibility.

How long does it take to re-stock out-of-stock items?

Most of the time when we run out of items, more are already on their way so it usually only takes a day or two to restock. If any item is out-of-stock for longer than a week, it's unavailable from the manufacturer. This is caused by a shortage at the actual factory, or when they slow production for whatever reason. We rarely get an accurate "estimated date of arrival" for manufacturer backordered items because of everything that is required to import such large quantities of these sorts of goods into the United States. Delays can happen anywhere along the guns' trip from the factory to our shelves, and believe us that it annoys us more than you :).

Batteries and Charging

  • Battery voltage (V) is determined by the number of cells in the battery pack. Multiply the number of cells by 1.2 volts to get the pack's voltage, e.g. 7 cells X 1.2V = 8.4V, 8 cells X 1.2V = 9.6V. The amount of voltage determines the rate of fire of the gun and how strong a spring you can install in the gun.
  • Battery milliamperage (mah) should be printed on the battery cells. The amount of mah indicates how long you can fire your battery-powered gun for, and how long you will need to charge your battery.
  • There are two types of rechargeable batteries suitable for airsoft electric gun usage, nickel cadmium (NiCad) and nickel metal hydride (Nimh) batteries. The following is a comparison between the two battery types:

Nicad

Nimh

Has battery memory

No battery memory

Discharging required

Discharging not required

High output rates, high rate of fire

Rate of fire lower than Nicad

Can be fast charged

Must be charged at 3A or less

Less milliamp capacity than Nimhs

Higher milliamp capacity than Nicad

  • Never pull batteries by their plugs and be careful not to damage the wiring insulation.
  • Exposing the battery wires to contact with another battery wire or other metallic objects can cause the battery to short out and create a potential fire hazard.
  • Unplug batteries from your airsoft gun whenever it is not in use.
  • Store batteries in a cool, dry place when not being used.
  • Never expose batteries to open flame or break open the cells.
  • Be sure to dispose of batteries in the proper manner.
  • There is a misconception between the voltage of batteries and the power output for guns.  A higher voltage does not make your gun more powerful.  The only thing an upgraded battery (8.4 to 9.6) does is increase the rate of fire but the power (F.P.S.) remains the same.  Using a higher voltage battery in a gun without an upgraded motor or gearbox, may result in higher heat and viscosity breakdown on the lube that is on the gears resulting in damage.  If you want more power then make upgrades to your motor, gearbox, and piston and then these upgrades will call for an upgraded power source.

Charging

  • *WARNING*: Do not overcharge batteries! If they overheat, you could cause damage to the battery and create a potential fire hazard!
  • Be sure to read the charger instructions thoroughly before charging your battery. ·
  • Not all chargers are created equal. Please use the proper charger which is intended for your battery type, i.e. if you are charging a 9.6V Nimh battery, be sure your charger can charge 9.6V batteries and Nimh batteries.
  • Be sure to use the proper connectors to connect your battery to the charger.
  • Calculate the proper amount of time required to charge a battery by dividing the battery's milliamp capacity by the chargers charge rate, e.g. it would take a 250 mah rate charger 6 hours to charge a completely drained 1500 mah battery. Every charger is different, so be certain to read your chargers manual thoroughly before charging your battery. ·
  • If you are not certain of a battery's remaining charge and you wish to charge it, place the battery on the charger and check it every 5-10 minutes. If the battery is warm to the touch, assume it is fully charged. If it is hot to the touch, remove the battery from the charger immediately! ·

Remember, NiCad batteries must be completely discharged before charging again. Use the appropriate discharger to discharge the battery, or completely drain the battery through normal use before charging again
